Are there metro areas with homes priced under $300K?
A recent report on home prices that was published on Yahoo! Finance, showed that there are at least 15 cities in the U.S. that have available home inventory priced under $300,000. The article reviewed data from the National Association of Realtors to find metro areas that had median sales prices below $300k. Then, they developed a consensus approach from a variety of sources to select one city per state.
The most attractive major city to make the list? Pittsburgh, PA had a median home price of $229,000 and stands out for its low cost of living and diverse housing options. It also offers similar quality of life to other major cities in the area, but doesn’t come with a lot of the same costs as a New York City or Boston.
What does it cost to live like you’re in Home Alone 2?
The famous New York brownstone featured in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”, has hit the market. If you want to own the home that Kevin McCallister outwitted the sticky bandits. The cost? Only $6.7 million, but its said to come without any burglars currently.
The 3,740 sq. ft. home on New York’s Upper West Side comes with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It was built in the 1880s and has been updated multiple times over the last 140 years. However, it still features a grand staircase, custom millwork, ornate molding, and the original chandeliers.
The home also offers a partially finished basement, a small garden area in back with a wooden deck and bluestone patio, and a 4th floor terrace.
